Rice Village District is bringing back their hit a cappella competition, The Sing Off, on December 13th, 2019 from 6 – 8 PM. This year’s line-up will compete a number of upbeat, holiday-themed songs in front of a judges panel for all to enjoy!

 
Emcee and judges of the competition is

Houston-based band, The Suffers. They are an 8-piece,

award-winning, gulf coast soul ensemble! 

Four Houston-based a cappella groups will compete for the 2019 Sing Off title including the Rice University Philharmonics, Grandmas’ Boyfriends, Rice Apollos, and The Space City Sound. The groups will compete in two rounds and perform a holiday set where they will be scored on song choice, choreography, and vocal performance.

The Sing-Off will take place in front of the Christmas tree at the corner of University and Morningside Drive. The winner of the competition will get to light the Christmas tree and

will receive a donation to their group. Enjoy "snow" in the village following the event!

Tickets to the Sing-Off are free, but RSVPing is suggested.
